Beautifully scary looking plant that venus fly trap - poor flies have no idea what they're in for. Love how you rendered the piece - neat textures inside those rather imposing "jaws". really well done!!
In regards to your comment to my post. I actually 'pre-created' the blog entry Thursday evening, but didn't get the post finished until Friday morning >:(
This was probably as late and entry as one could make. That is the problem with ray-tracing. There is only so fast your computer can go and you either have an image or you don't.
Anyway, I like your entry. Very nice shading and textures. Had you considered putting a fly in the illo?
P.S. I did identify the parakeet. Hope your open-house went well.
