Beautiful image!
wow!....(smiling ) if this is what paint shop pro can do... Im getting it!...................though there is the remarkable talent that is handling it...for this image to consider as well !

This is just way cool!
I especially like the texture of the tree. The tutorial on the wolf spider was great, also. BTW - You mention losing on work due to not saving. Are you using the autosave feature of PSP (File --> Preferences --> Autosave Settings...). It is sometimes annoying to have to wait for a function to complete while saving is taking place, but it can sure save you (no pun intended?).
I think this style is where you are at your best. (Reminds me of the Sprout illo).
