Once again, a very nice piece. Nice job on the knight. Obviously, a full moon out tonight. 8^)

Very smooth knight in the night!

So simple...yet it's just perfect. Well done!

Very nice. I love it! :-)

Sometimes simple can be so elegant.
This is one of them

Very subtle with wonderful shadows. Well done.

For some reason I have always really liked illuminated windows, and the notion that you can see just a little bit of what's on the other side. Love it!

I really like this one......but I always like your illos!

I love the inherent drama of this piece. You just know that there is a story behind it.

This is really lovely!

Excellent piece, you've captured the soft shadows of the night perfectly.

Like many of you other artists, I tend to be my own harshest critic. I am blown away by the response to this piece ;-) ... I liked it when I got done, but never thought it was THAT good. You all have boosted my confidence quite a bit this week. **humble bow**

Idiothead
Yes, VERY full... maybe a bit too bright on the floor.

Thanks!

indigo & steve
I don't know about "perfect", but thanks very much!

maria
Thanks!

toni
It was almost more complex.. I'm glad I decided not to add some things that I originally had in mind.

holly
I appreciate the compliment. As my own worst critic, I noticed the shadow of the knight was actually too long. But I'm glad you liked it anyway :-)

cindy
Figured out what is on the other side yet?

janet
OK, that's it. You will have to be one of my favorites now. ;-) What a compliment! Now I'm gonna have to work even harder to keep up with expectations.

tony
You're comment on "drama" got me thinking and I may need to make one small addition some day. It won't be intrusive to the current version, but could enhance that drama quite a bit. Thanks for the idea you don't know you gave me!

valgalart
"clever and Mysterious"... I like that. Thanks!

joe
I have had a good week, especially thanks to all the kind comments.

jody
I'm gonna try not to jump to conclusions here. ;-)

ldahl
I live for puns.

julie
Thanks, puns and elegant is sometimes difficult to pull off. I'd done mostly cartoon illos to this point and needed to step out for a moment into something deeper.

carla & aravis
Thanks for the thoughts!

catnapping
LOL! I just knew after I saw your comment on that other illo that I may have worded it poorly! I DO appreciate a good color pallet. Really. (I wish I could remeber which post that was on... I've looked at over 500 this week like many of you out there!)

If you like "quietness", check out idiothead's post.

From the "Drawing Board" for this image...

I hadn't thought about "drama" in this, but after you mentioned it, I looked back and I can see what you mean. Thanks for the insight.

anthony
Thanks!

funnny farmer
I can't belive you had ANYTHING negative to say about your illo! If it could have been better than it is, I'm having trouble imagining it. Glad you put all that work into the characters! And I'm very honored that I could be an inspiration to you and others.
